Minister of finance, Okonjo-Iweala In Hot Soup Over N21billion Scam

Minister of finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Minister of agriculture, Dr Akinwumi Adesina and others have been summoned by the House of Representatives over alleged N21billion rice importation tax evasion scam.

According to Vanguard, the ministers and 25 rice importers are expected to explain to the lawmakers how over N21bn tax was evaded despite the provision of subsidy by the Federal Government to the importers.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has approved the appointment of Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Ado Bayero as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

Alhaji Sanusi, a lawyer, from Kano State takes over from Mallam Habib Abdullahi who has been relieved of his appointment as Managing Director of the NPA.The appointment of the new NPA Managing Director takes effect from tomorrow, Thursday, April 30 2015.

President Jonathan thanks the outgoing Managing Director for his services and wishes well in his future endeavours.
