The military authorities have taken the 293 women and girls rescued by the Special Forces during a raid on the dreaded Sambisa Forest   to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Maiduguri, Borno State.

Married with 4 children, Adamu says he will be leaving Maiduguri by 6am tomorrow and will depart from Jimtilo park. More Nigerians still to be executed in Indonesia - Hon. Abike Dabiri

The Chairperson House Committee on Diaspora matters, Abike Dabiri-Erewa said their are more Nigerians waiting to be executed in Indonesia. Speaking on Channels TV News at 10 last night, Hon Abike said a federal government delegation in which she was part of in 2008 visited Indonesia and found there were 21 Nigerians who were on death row in Indonesia for drug related offenses. She said nothing can be done as its the law in Indonesia. She said every 5m you walk, a sign is displayed saying the penalty for drug trafficking is death.

Photos: Chaos in Onitsha after police man shoots driver dead

Yesterday, a policeman allegedly shot dead a 'Hero' beer truck driver during a road rage in Onitsha, Anambra state. According to eye-witnesses, the truck driver had parked his truck in a manner the policeman said was disturbing other road users. The policeman who was part of an escort van came down from his police vehicle, approached the truck and an argument ensued. For reasons best known to the police officer, he opened fire and shot dead the truck driver. 

This morning, an angry mob, including truck drivers and conductors came out in their numbers to protest the death of their colleague. They burnt tyres and blocked the gate leading to the company where the policeman worked. When the protest seemed to be getting out of hand, the army had to be called in and they came with an armored tank. See the photos after the cut...

South African Govt Expresses Anger over Nigerian Govts Recall of Her Ambassadors

South African government has released a statement expressing their displeasure over Nigerian government's decision to recall her envoys following Xenophobic attacks in SA. In a statement released by the South African government's Department of International Relations and Co-operations, SA government described the decision as an unfortunate and regrettable step, adding that only Nigeria has taken such a decision since the xenophobic attacks began.
